Student Technology Services (STS) is a component of EPCC Information Technology, comprised of students and student managers, supervised by a professional IT staff. STS provides students with an opportunity to gain professional experience, while earning an income. STS students are most often placed with experienced faculty and staff members in a field closely related to their field of study. STS is managed by students, who are working towards similar goals as our current STS students.
While applying the theories learned in the classroom, STS students graduate with real-world experience and the hands-on skills necessary to succeed in today's job market. As an additive, STS students develop networking skills, and are often employed by EPCC in their field of study.
STS Managers also develop managerial skills, which enhances their resume and strengthens their employment opportunities. STS managers often start out as students and successfully work their way up. STS managers are also assigned duties which relate to their field of study, while also obtaining additional valued skills.
