Mexican Revolution Topics

These are topics Ms. Vise has suggested for research starting with Fall 2009 for her English 1302 class on Borderlands.

For any of these topics, AFTER you have an understanding of your person or event, check the microfilm at UTEP: Coleccion Silvestre Terrazas 1866-1942  a 36 microfilm reel set with  "Selected material from the Silvestre Terrazas Collection in the Bancroft Library at the University of California--Berkeley (includes newspaper collection and library). Contains information about the Mexican Revolution in newspapers, magazines, books, and documents; also contains material on social, cultural, and political themes."  A full description of each reel is available by clicking on the link above.

Borderlands is published annually by El Paso Community College, P.O. Box 20500, El Paso, TX 79998.

It is a collection of student written articles on the history & culture of the El Paso, Juárez, Las Cruces border region, comprising the states of Texas, New Mexico, and the Mexican state of Chihuahua.   This site was created with seed money from the Integrating Technical Contexts into Academic Courses (ITAC) Project, and maintained by the Northwest Community Library staff. 

Funds for the program were provided by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board under the auspices of the federal Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998.
